Nomxolisi is a 6 year old girl. She lives with her mum and three brothers and she is the youngest in the family. She is a quiet natured child but very aware of everything. She likes to draw and play and can be content for a long time in a world of her own. Nomxolisi has a beautiful smile and happily for us she shares this smile with us regularly.

During the financial interview with Nomxolisi's mother we discovered that this family of 5 are living on a disability benefit grant of only R600 (£40) per month. Her mother has lost her fingers and is therefore unable to find any employment in this area. The commitment to her child's future was outstanding as she still offered to pay R100 for school fees (She also has another child at the school who she was willing to pay R100 for). This would have left the family with R400 (£26) to live on for the whole month. We commended Lungelwa (Nomxolisi's mother) on her dedication to her child's future, but asked instead if she could help us to run an after school care. Lungelwa happily agreed and so we waived the school fees for both children. With your help towards her fees we can ensure that Nomxolisi can remain at our school and get the opportunities in life that she truly deserves.
