Zukhanye meaning "growing brighter" is a boy aged 3 years old. He is the last born of 3 children and he lives with his mother, father, brother and sister in a warm loving environment.

Zukhanye taught us a very valuable lesson and reminded us that money should never be our motivation in life. We were faced with the choice between Zukhanye and another child for the last place available in our pre-school. We chose the other child as his parents were able to pay substantially more school fees. As Zukhanye walked away out of the school gate carrying his school bag he turned around to look at us with a real sadness in his eyes, it was heartbreaking. It turned out that the parent with lots of money decided the school wasn't good enough for her. We realized what a mistake we had just made and one of our co-ordinators set off to town to find the family. When they arrived back an hour later to enroll Zukhanye we were very, very happy. Fortuntately, Zukhanye and his parents didn't hold it against us, they were just so pleased to now have this wonderful opportunity for their child.

Zukhanye's parents are able to pay R150 (£10) per month towards his school fees, so now we are looking for sponsorship to make up the rest. With your help we can ensure that Zukhanye has the school fees necessary to continue to grow and blossom at Sisonke school.
