Yondela and Yolanda began at Sisonke School in Jan 2009. This was their first time to attend a school, but they settled in very well. They are very sociable children and enjoy being around others. They are clever, have a good memory and enjoy learning to speak English. They enjoy school so much that they are always asking if they can come on Saturdays.
Their mother always dresses them in the exact same outfits so telling them apart is a challenge! The twins themselves also struggle to tell themselves apart and get confused if they are Yondela or Yolanda. Despite this they are quite different in personalities with Yolanda being by far the more chatty and confident one.
They live with their mother and father quite close to the town and only 15 minutes walk from the school. They do not have any other siblings at the moment so the two of them are very close and play well together at home.
Unfortunately their mother is unable to find work, but their father is a policeman here in town. They also live with the fathers 3 younger sisters as the fathers mother passed away. These sisters are still at senior school, so it is quite a responsibility for the family to take care of them.
They struggle financially because of these extra responsibilities and also because of the lack of employment opportunities in the town. Nevertheless the twins parents want to give them the best opportunities in life possible and so they try their best to contribute at least something towards the school fees of the girls.
We are looking for sponsorship to help make up the remainder of the fees that the family simply cannot afford. If you would like to help please click on the sponsor now button below.
