Banele which means "it's enough" is the last born of 4 children. He has two older sisters and one older brother. He lives with his mum and his 3 siblings and although he doesn't live with his father, he does have a little contact with him. His home is situated about a 20 minute walk from the school.

Banele is a lively child who loves school. His favourite things to do at school are Maths and drawing. At home he loves to be busy practising his writing and doing his homework. Banele has been with us at Sisonke since we opened in 2008 and he is progressing very well. When he first started he could be quite boisterous and sometimes rude, however in this caring and loving environment he has now settled down and is a pleasure to have in this class.

Banele's mum is very active within the school and is a prominent member of our parent committee. She is a lovely lady who cares very much about Sisonke School and what are trying to achieve here. She can see the difference this school has made in her son's life and she wants to support us in whatever way possible.

As with most of the families in this area, making ends meet is a struggle. Banele's mum is doing office work at a local hotel, but the pay is still very poor. She also has to take care of this large family without any other support.

Sponsorship of Banele would ensure that he could continue his education at Sisonke School for many years to come, despite the struggling financial circumstances at home.
