Gordon is 13 years old and lives with his mum, sister, grandmother and aunt. When Gordon came for an interview at the school we discovered that he had not been attending school for the last two years due his mother's financial difficulties. She has been unable to find employment and relies on an income from bead necklaces she makes and sells to the tourists.

During the interview Gordon sat himself at one of desks and with a huge grin he looked around at his new classroom. He was overjoyed with the opportunity to be back to school.

Gordon is a lively child who loves life. He is wonderful with crafts and drawing and loves any kind of sport or physical activity. He is a little behind with his academic subjects as he missed so much school, but we are giving him extra remedial help one to one and he is improving very quickly. Gordon was sick last year with TB, he is still receiving treatment but fortunately this seems to be working and he is strong and healthy.

Gordons mother was unable to pay any school fees and so in place of that she helps us to run a charity/craft shop to raise funds for the school. With your help we can ensure that Gordon remains in this school and gets the opportunities in life he truly deserves.
